According to a 2013 study by Morneau Shepell, entrepreneurs are more likely to experience mental health conditions than the general public. In fact, these mental health concerns have been reported across 72% of entrepreneurs compared to a mere 7% of the general public. One of the key findings suggest that entrepreneurs don’t have adequate self-care systems in place. According to Fortune Magazine, 13% of startups fail because their founders have lost focus, 9% fail because they’ve lost their passion, and 8% fail due to founder burnout, and 30% of startups fail due to the emotional state of their founders. Entrepreneurs are more prone to mental illness because they’re more likely to neglect their health and self care and the startup mentality of pushing yourself to the brink can trigger mood vulnerability, making stress and anxiety that much harder to cope with.

I have been there. I know whats its like to be known as the Type A, overachiever who can’t sit still. I know what it feels like to be a professional faker who looks like shes got it all together on the the outside but feel like a ball of nerves and completely alone on the inside.

THERE I WAS AT THE FINISH LINE OF MY FIRST 1/2 MARATHON THAT I HAD TRAINED SO HARD FOR AND I DIDN’T FEEL THE RUSH OF EXCITEMENT OR ACCOMPLISHMENT I ENVISIONED HAVING AS I CROSSED THE FINISH LINE.  I FELT ANXIOUS. THE TRAINING WAS MY WAY OF STAYING BUSY AND CALMING MY RACING THOUGHTS.  NOW WHAT? I’M INSTANTLY FEELING A RUSH OF PANIC AS I DIDN’T HAVE A PLAN FOR MY NEXT ACCOMPLISHMENT.  DO I SIGNUP FOR ANOTHER 1/2? NAH, I DIDN’T EVEN REALLY ENJOY RUNNING.  IT WAS JUST THE NEXT ACCOMPLISHMENT THAT I COULD KEEP LASER FOCUSED ON. ON THE OUTSIDE EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT, A LIFE TO TRULY BE ENVIOUS OF. ON THE INSIDE I WAS A BALL OF ANXIETY, UNHAPPY WITH THE PATH I CHOSE IN LIFE, ZERO SELF ESTEEM, AND LIVING A LIFE UNAUTHENTIC TO WHO I REALLY WAS. I WAS USING ALCOHOL, EXERCISE,  AND EVEN OVER-ACHIEVEMENT AS MY WAY OF COPING. I PLAYED THE BLAME GAME TOO. BLAMED OTHERS, BLAMED MY SITUATION, BLAMED MY LACK OF SELF CONFIDENCE, AND OF COURSE MY PARENTS. THEN I WOKE UP AND REALIZED I HAD TO DO SOMETHING. I MEAN REALLY DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE MY SITUATION. I WAS TIRED OF NOT CONTROLLING MY OWN LIFE AND I WAS TIRED OF COVERING UP MY RACING THOUGHTS WITH MY LESS THAN STELLAR COPING METHODS. TIME TO TAKE CONTROL. I CHOSE TO  DO THE WORK TO GET TO THE ROOT CAUSE OF MY ANXIETY AND DISCOVERED MY TRIGGER WAS STRESS, TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS, AND LACK OF PROFESSIONAL FULFILLMENT WHICH ALSO MANIFESTED INTO MY PISS POOR DIET OF PROCESSED FOODS AND ALCOHOL, TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS, OVER EXERCISING, AND OVER-ACHIEVEMENT.  IT TOOK ME SEVERAL YEARS TO ACTUALLY LEARN THIS TYPE OF ANXIETY HAD A SPECIFIC LABEL OF HFA. WHEN I DISCOVERED HFA EXISTED, I WAS INCREDIBLY RELIEVED TO KNOW I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE.

1. Will I be able to stop taking my anti-anxiety medications with this program?——I cannot guarantee this or recommend changes to any medication regimens. I can say I have had clients who were able to slowly lower their dosages and eventually stop taking certain medications, but that is not something I can counsel or coach you through unfortunately without approval and overseeing from your physician.

2. How long does it take to feel better with your program?—— Everyone is different and I have no way to guarantee a time frame on your results. This depends on severity of symptoms and your willingness to fully engage in the program and complete all lessons according to how they were intended to be.
